Microsoft gets nailed buy EU for Antitrust fines. 03/02/2010

1. Microsoft gets nailed buy EU for Antitrust fines.

The EU has heavily fined Microsoft for only supplying Internet Explorer with their Operating systems. The EU wants Windows 7 to have a selection of browser options for the consumer, allowing the market to decide which browser to use. This is absurd since MAC only supplies Safari and Linux Firefox. Of all things they could get fined for, they should not get fined for this.

Microsoft and Yahoo Merges and Monopolies reign. 09/08/2009

2. Microsoft and Yahoo Merges and Monopolies reign.

Microsoft continues to Monopolize and Devour good companies. Microsoft and Yahoo came to an agreement on July 29 that they would merge. It's no surprise that Yahoo must turn over their search engine information to Microsoft. I am just waiting for the Yahoo Chapter 7 and asset liquidation sale that will com from this.

Bing . . . formerly known as MSN search. 08/15/2009

3. Bing . . . formerly known as MSN search.

Microsoft comes out with the name "BING" as a replacement name for Live Search, Windows Live Search, MSN Search. Most people probably think Bing is a different search engine. In fact, it is just the same MSN search that nobody used before. Its the old bait and switch technique that Microsoft keeps using. They sell you the same thing under a different name. Junk is junk no matter how you package it.

Intel gets fined by EU for monopolistic practices. 06/01/2009

5. Intel gets fined by EU for monopolistic practices.

Intel was fined £1.45 billion dollars by the EU for monopolistic business practices. Evidently, according to sources, Intel paid major computer manufacturers to produce Intel chipsets instead of AMD chipsets. AMD suffered losses due to this immoral and unethical business practice. As an outcome of this, consumers choices were diminished, quality computer manufacturing was stifled, and better performing chipset manufacturers suffered loss in sales.

Google uses underscores in URL's as word seperators. 03/18/2009

7. Google uses underscores in URL's as word seperators.

For many years webcrawlers and search engines were treating the underscore ( _ ) as part of the word. For example, webmaster_services.html would be searched as one word, webmaster_services. Now, Google uses underscores in URL's as word seperators. Webmaster_services.html is searched as webmaster services, two words. This is a major advantage for many developers because of different sevices that have been built, like Typepad, that use underscores in the URL.

Linux Operating Systems on the rise. 02/18/2009

8. Linux Operating Systems on the rise.

Linux servers are everywhere, and slowly, the Linux Operating System is creeping into the desktop market. With the user friendliness of the Debian, Suse, Ubuntu, and Fedora core Operating Systems, don’t be surprised if you see Linux operating systems in the retail market. With Microsoft producing inferior products and Mac not being "Geek" enough. With the rise of Free Open Source Software developers, Linux is becoming a perfect solution to PC building and desktop publishing needs

Windows 7 Beta no longer available for download. 01/28/2009

9. Windows 7 Beta no longer available for download.

After Microsoft released the Beta version of Microsoft 7 and allowed people to download it, they now have stopped the downloads. They did this with Windows Longhorn Beta (Now known as Windows Vista). Too bad Microsoft will not allow their Operating Systems to be downloaded. Even if it is a Cheesy Beta version. This appears to be another act similar to their previous failure, Windows Vista. Maybe Microsoft could learn from the success of Linux.

Adobe CS4 is now released. 09/22/2008

13. Adobe CS4 is now released.

Just when you were used to CS2 came CS3. Then after a very brief product life cycle for CS3 came the CS4. The CS4 version is practically the same, except for a few little individual program alterations and a loss of a couple programs like Stock Photos, Device Central, and LiveCycle Designer. Unless you are independently wealthy or money falls out of the sky for you, I would just keep using the CS3 version.

Microsoft Windows 7 is coming soon. 07/21/2008

15. Microsoft Windows 7 is coming soon.

Finally all of the complaining about Vista paid off. After the major flop of Windows Vista and a few million complaints from Windows users, Microsoft is now releasing a new version of Windows called Windows 7. This version is supposed to be better than Vista, although I have a funny suspicion Microsoft is pulling the old bait and switch on us and repackaging Vista into a different look.

If you see this any where near your computer, run for cover and start your AVG antivirus program. This heartbreaking program does the opposite of what the makers of the program claims.
